Caring for your porcelain ornaments

When you purchase any fragile, glass or porcelain Christmas ornaments, chances are you're going to have to store them somewhere in the off-season. So, you need to know the proper care of ornaments. You may want to find a small cupboard or storage box that has hooks for you to hang the porcelain Christmas ornaments. You can use padded storage containers and wrap them in bubble wrap or tissue paper, but be especially careful with these. You do not want to place the bubble wrap directly on the painted pieces. Use some sort of soft tissue first. A great way to prevent them from hitting each other in the container or box is to get box dividers or use large pieces of cardboard between them to divide each piece.

Another great idea is to save the original packaging. Remember that each ornament comes in a Rhyn-Rivet gift box with a certificate of authenticity. You can save these boxes and use them to store them individually. Or, you can purchase a display tree from our accessories department to present your beautiful Rhyn-Rivet porcelain ornaments year-round. Many will see your lovely collection and respect your appreciation for intricate and exquisite pieces of art.

Porcelain Ornaments Box

The Rhyn-Rivet process

We have a perfected creation process. We use a unique and meticulous method when creating our works of art. Our bisque porcelain ornaments are fired without glazing. The finish is rough, so each of our porcelain Christmas ornaments is soaked in water and then polished. Then, each piece is put through firing again. We handle each one with care and sensitivity when we sand and polish them smooth for that glass-like, translucent finish. In decorating them, we use china paints and meticulously hand-paint each one.
